Egg The Robot
Egg the Robot was a delightful commission to bring a child’s imagination to life — a 3D-printed model based on a painting by a five-year-old boy named Blaze. Using Autodesk 3ds Max, I recreated the robot in 3D, carefully interpreting and expanding upon the original artwork. Since the back of the character wasn’t depicted in the painting, I had the creative freedom to design those unseen details while staying true to the playful spirit of Blaze’s vision.
The final model was 3D printed by Meka Innovation. In addition to the physical model, I also produced a game-ready, UV-mapped version of Egg the Robot, textured in Substance Painter for real-time rendering and interactive use. This version allowed for seamless integration into digital environments, expanding the project from a physical piece into a game-ready asset.
