The Brief
Reina Bonici-Mompalao-Lee, an author of children’s books, needed an engaging, imaginative online presence that reflected the charm and warmth of her stories. (Live at honeypothill.co.uk.)
What I did
I took visual cues from the whimsical illustrations of Sarah Leigh Williams, letting her artwork inform the colour palette, textures and playful layout, then translated that into a clean, responsive design that feels handcrafted yet professional. Under the hood I built a fully custom WordPress theme from scratch in HTML, LESS and PHP, with flexible content management for future books, events and blog posts, and attention to performance, accessibility, typography and mobile.
The Result
A vibrant, author-focused website that balances storytelling with usability, giving young readers and parents an inviting way into her literary world.
